House Bache-Gabrielsen was founded by a Norwegian gentleman, Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen, in 1905. It was passed on from father to son, reaching Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen – eldest son
of the fourth generation – in 2009.
The house’s bicultural heritage is the founding value of the company. Scandinavian roots married to century-old Cognac traditions have fashioned Bache-Gabrielsen’s unique vision.
For over 110 years, the family house has followed the path of creativity and audaciousness which is reflected both in the personality of its cognacs and in the design of its bottles.
Double maturation: aged in French oak barrels combined with a minimum of six months in new American oak barrels. The wood for the barrels are imported from Tennessee, made in partnership with a local cooperage, following the guidelines set out by the cellar master. The depth of the Tennessee oak brings an interesting dimension to the cognac, giving the final product a distinct character, with delicate aromas of tropical fruits such as coconut and pineapple. The final result is that of a rich and fruity cognac, enhanced by notes of chocolate and vanilla
